And now, for something completely different...really!

Scroll to the bottom for a bulletin board!!!

First and foremost, thanks to Tuna and son for all of their help in getting the board set up. Scroll to the bottom to post a message. Now on to the poll results.

I was a little surprised at the winner on this poll. It is not often that a non-American nominee wins one of our polls. I guess an argument could be made that Python is as much a part of American comedy culture as anything though. It may be alone in that regard. I cannot think of any other show from the Isles that has enjoyed the success that Monty has.

This poll was suggested by the sexpot secretary I work with this summer. She has been quite amused at the few emails I have gotten asking how hot she is. Believe me, she is smokin'!!!

I received an email from someone saying that "Beam me up, Scotty" was never actually used on "Star Trek." Can that be true? How the hell did it become the signature phrase from the show if it was never said? My favorite from the show is the "Dammit Jim" lines. A trekker may know this, but I bet that DeForest Kelley adlibbed that line the first time and it became a staple after that. Sort of like the "Picard Maneuver" of the shirt tug on TNG.

Homer Simpson B.C., Fred Flintstone, finished in a very respectable fourth. You know what's also funny about "The Flintstones" after all of these years? The fact that they only had like four people doing the voices. Watch them again sometime. You will notice that there are sure a lot of women in Bedrock who sound like Wilma with a cold. Now "The Simpsons" does the same thing. Sideshow Mel is Homer with an English accent and a lot of other kids sound like Bart and Martin Prince.

Speaking of the Simpsons, I intentionally left them out of the poll. I thought since we had already done the "Homer line" poll and since they would have dominated the voting, it was best just to leave them out.

New feature today. Tuna suggested we have a talkback feature so you guys could explain your choices, tell me what an idiot I am, or just say whatever is on your mind. Suggest future polls if you want. I won't edit them and I am going to try to get them on all of the commentaries eventually. So if you have been wanting to say "Lawdog, Prince sucks and stop doing so much baseball bullshit," now is your chance. Thanks to Tuna for the suggestion and all the hlp in setting it up.
